For over 20 years Gerard has delivered Strategic Counsel and Strategic Brand/Marketing/
Communications expertise in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments.

As a consultant or employee he has worked with start-ups, early stage growth companies, multi-national organizations, associations, non-profits, and franchise systems in Canada and abroad, across a broad spectrum of industries.

In particular, Gerard possesses strong Strategic Counsel and Brand/Strategic Marketing/
Communications experience in financial services, having worked with industry leading organizations including American Express (where he worked on the launches of the student marketing, and ethnic marketing programs), Manulife Financial (Reinsurance - where he led the development and implementation of a 3-year strategic plan and a corporate rebranding), Scotiabank (Roynat Capital – where he led the development and implementation of a 5-year strategic plan which included expansion into U.S., and corporate rebranding), Munich Re (in Canada and in a separate engagement the U.S.), the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC - where he led marketing, communications, government and member relations), the Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights (FAIR Canada), and others.

His resume also includes leading the development of the groundbreaking brand positioning and go-to-market planning for the launch of Canada’s first new national stock exchange in over 160 years, the NEO Stock Exchange (now CBOE Canada, after being acquired in 2022), where he led all brand, marketing, communications and public relations activities.
